Racism was used to justify colonialism. The idea was that white people were superior to black people, therefore it was okay to invade, kill off anyone who resisted, and declare it a colony, since the white people were "civilizing" these "backwards" natives.

Every year I hear that so many people are immigrating from South Africa to Vancouver, Canada. What will I need to meet these requirements? Do you have any tips for me?

There are several website dedicated to help people to immigrate to Canada. One of them is softlandings.com I think, but they charge you for their services. Just do a search on immigration canada. There is also a support group and network for SA ppl immigrating there, I think I found it under SA immigrate Canada.

For the first time in history, South Africa hosted a Confederation Cup, which I consider as a mini-world cup. Lot of doubts engulf South Africa abouth its capability to hosting such a big tournament. How do you think they fare in terms of overall performance including transportation, hospitality, stadiums, Bafana Bafana, and many other things? Did you enjoy it?

I understand the doubts but i think south africa did their best to be a great host. Okay maybe the pitch wasnt top notch but it was ok, the teams still played well. Come 2010, they’ll really deliver, no doubt.

I enjoyed it because the crowd acted like ours back home especially with the vuvuzelas (the horns, as most people who arent used to them call them).

I enjoyed the games though they were full of surprises, who would have thought SA (south africa) would be in the top 4??? I always thought the final match would be spain vs brazil. I didnt expect USA to go as far as it did.

For the 1st time i was glued to the screen during a football game. I’m a typical girl who has no time for football but I loved the Confederation cup!!!!

Anyone who has travelled to south africa and/or have a suggestiosn on how long i need in each country? I know its a pretty wide question, but im going to be backpacking, and need a time frame. I have from one to four weeks approximately per place. Any suggestions to what to see? Thanks!

Not sure about time frame. But a few suggestions of place you can go
- Okavango Delta
- Kasane (Chobe). Very near the Victoria Falls.
