I need reliable sources of information on the state of digital media in Southeast Asia and China to justify investing in online marketing there.

There’s no specific product or service in mind. This is about the state of online marketing in Southeast Asia and China in general.

Is it good to invest in it? What reliable information can I use to back this decision up?

Know why Google retreat from China ?

I can tell you based on the huge population and rapid growth in economics, the internet booms prosperously in China and many Web companies retrieve unbelievable success here such as QQ, Baidu, TaoBao, etc. But unfortunately few foreign company among them.

There are many explanations including huge culture rift, weak copyright protection, strict news censorship, and so on. It is difficult to give you the reliable infomation — and you’d better not trust the data from Chinese goverment until you’re sure you have a good understanding of Chinese goverment — but Google is a good case for research.

How much do people get paid? And to compare the jobs to the US. Could you give me websites to find these information because i cant find the information.Thanks.

This matter is not that simple.

Legally, you can start working at 15. But at 15 without high school or college diploma, you could hardly find a full-time job. So you need to go to higher education first.

>What type of jobs do people do?

All jobs you have over there.

>How much do people get paid?

It depends on each job.

How many years will it take for the whole of Asia to be a global power like what Europe did in the Age of Discovery and Colonization Era wherein almost all of its nations inside the continent are rich, famous, progressive nations, civilized people and a major power?

The criteria you use for global power -the age of Discovery and the era of Colonization are particular periods that I don’t believe can be repeated by any nation let alone Asia. Those were eras that were dominated by an elite which saw many living in real poverty.
Today the Americans seem to be preoccupied with projecting "power" militarily and the Chinese with the might of millions tied to overproduction.
Our current models of growth are seriously faulty as they are not based on sustainable strategies.
Visit Asia and see for yourself places like Shanghai which from the air look like New York and see the Western styles of housing and education in Singapore.
China, India and Japan economically speaking already dwarf the West but their power is benign.
So if you think that this dominance is similar to that of the West you would be wrong. Asia sees itself as just one part of a multi-polar world and not in terms of brute power.
To answer your question- Asia (which is a lot of countries who are not united as one entity, like Europe) will never be a global power like America or Europe.
