With all the sights and a nice resort.
Me and 3 of my other buddies want to know because we want to go to Jamaica this summer.
So how much would it cost for one person?
With all the sights,a resort, take food into that account and souvenirs.

How much pocket money should we bring for the trip and how much money would the flight from Croatia to Jamaica cost?

A flight from Croatia (you don’t say from which airport) to Jamaica will run you a minimum of $1800 if you get a really good rate. As far as the trip is concerned, you could probably budget about $2000 and be able to stay at a decent resort like Breezes in Runaway Bay which is well suited for singles. Ocho Rios is where most of the activites are located and a trip up into Nine Mile is about 2 hours from there. Food will be included at an all inclusive resort (like Breezes) as well as all the alcohol you can consume, but try to drink responsibly Normally, tours and activities will run you an average of $80 per person if organized through your resort, but it really depends on what you want to do and see. Many people hire private guides for tours and day trips around the island. Depending on your appetite for ’souveniers’ you could end up spending an arm and a leg with as many people there trying to sell you their ‘wares’ just make sure you account for that. If you plan to spend most of your time on the resort, you won’t even need your wallet, but you won’t get to see everything that JA has to offer. Check Tripadvisor.com for resort ideas in either Negril, Runaway Bay or Ocho Rios. These are the areas that a group of single guys would enjoy themselves most in Jamaica. One Love.

Honestly you should visit the island during the summer months of May to July. You will always experience the warm sun and cool nights and there is usually little rain until the month of August.

DonA is right. That is what I do when I visit Jamaica. I use a guy named Seymore Samuels he can be reached at c_morenitelifetours@yahoo.com or by calling 876-896-9692. He is very trustworthy and will take you anywhere you want to go on the island. I use him to go to Nine Mile and everywhere else. Just don’t try to use him on the 9th or 10th of June Have Fun!!

Im going to jamaica in the month of October and even though $1 is the equivalent of 89 over there how much money would be a good amount to take. I mainly want to go over there and go to the clubs and do a little shopping. Were going to Montego Bay. And i also heard that meals are like 800 or 900 jamaican dollars, is that true???

No Negative Comments Please I know all about the crime rate and things so please none of that.

You seem surprised that a meal would cost 800 to 900 J. That is only about $10 US. If you are not staying AI, it’s best to budget about $100 a day for food and drinks. You will probably spend less, but it gives you a little room to play. On top of that add any partying you want to do, and then any kind of excursion and then souvenirs.

Things are going to cast roughly the same as in the US. You might expect to pay about 100J for a soda and maybe 300J for a beer. That’s going to vary depending on where you buy it.

Go and have a good time.

You contact the department of Immigration in Jamica or go to the Jamican embassy in the UK.

You also need to check with (I believe) the home office, to see if under british law you can be a duel UK/Jamaican citizen. Probably you can but strictly speaking if you apply for citizenship of the wrong country it could invalidate your British citizenship.

I would go ahead and purchase the ticket now. My husband went to Jamaica last summer for our honey-moon, and we bought ours around March/April and from that time until June they went from $300 to $500 per ticket just in two months.
But make sure you don’t go with Delta, they tend to change their flight scheduling more often than not.
Good luck and have fun, "mon."

It won’t be crowded with kids during your vacation. April is the traditional spring break time and thats not a time you really want to be in Jamaica–unless you like mobs of people which I suspect you don’t.

There will be a wide cross section of ages there at this time of year and it will be a little busy in general. although with the economy the way it is there may be less people there.

Either way, March is a busy time of year in Jamaica for tourism.

Have fun!!

My husband and I go to Montego Bay every winter before the holiday season starts up. We always stay at Sandals Royal Caribbean. The service, accommodations, and food are excellent.

It’s very easy to buy marijuana there, but it is illegal.

Yes, you do need a passport.
