My son is applying for his provisional licence but does not know whether the photo has to be signed on the back in the same way that photos for passports are…
Thanks in advance
Please forgive the typo! PROVISIONAL
KIng Rat: I would have thought that by posting in the UK section, my location was obvious.

They’ve said they were going to start requiring passports over a year ago, but never did.
Now I’m hearing that it’s definitely going to start in January 2009.
Does anyone know for a fact that this is true?
I plan on going to Canada in spring or summer of 2009 and would like to know if I need a passport. You need a passport NOW if you fly. You will need a passport for land and sea travel to and from ‘Canada starting June 2009. Right now, for land travel you need birth certificate and photo I.D. See site below to read the law for yourself. Good idea to apply soon as there will be a grand rush as June gets closer.

I am separated from my husband, who chooses to have no contact with our two daughters aged 12 and ten. We are not legally separated and there is no court or other type of residence order or agreement.
Do I need my estranged husbands permission to obtain passports for my girls and if so does this need to be in writing? My parents want to take the girls to Disneyland Paris (I shall be at home looking aftre the dogs!). Will I need my ex’s permission for my parents to do so?
Also will my parents need my written permission to do so?
By the way, we were all born in and live in the UK. thanks all!
dont know about the passport, but ya do ta take them to France………. -

Israels secret agents used British Passports to travel to kill a member of Hamas. Is this a diplomatic and /or moral no go?
Regardless of how the West view Hamas, they are the elected majority in the Palestinian Parliament. Israel has a history of state sponsored political assassinations around the world, with most Governments neither condemn or offer support for it. It is only now, that their shady murderous dealings have become mainstream news and as such, western Governments will have to make it known their position due to the illegal use of passports. There will be no response from the Western Governments, they will publicly voice disapproval and that’s it. Israel has got it’s dirty little fingers in the pots of many Western Governments. The Jewish lobbyists plough multi millions into the coffers of political parties worldwide, safe in the knowledge that Israel will be looked favourably upon. This fascist little nation carrying an enormous chip on there shoulders needs to be held to account, and told that they cannot get away with genocide and political assassinations. -

I know passports come in many different colours, but are they all the same size? Looking to buy some passport covers for some jet-setting friends and I want to be sure they fit!
Yes, they are. -

I heard this on FOX this morning. The liberal democrat governor is purposing that foriegn passports be allowed as proper id for acquiring a driver’s license. That means that those who issue those licenses have to be familiar 180 valid passports from various counties. Not to mention the problems with allowing terrorists who have legal passports getting a driver’s license to, well maybe get a pilot’s license.
What do you think about this?
overanxious_neurotic, this new law by the NJ governor does not require the US visa. And your condesending answer make you look more foolish than you probably want others to know about. Please, the next time you have something of value to add, please do so respectfully.
I believe it is the NY governor, although maybe now NJ is joining in also.I live in the area. It is a VERY liberal area of the country. NJ has the highest taxes in the nation! (If it’s not number 1, then it’s darned close.)
I think the plan stinks.
<sigh>

I want to keep my new passport together with the 2 older passports . Is it better to staple them together or use an adhesive like Feviquick? I should be able to unbind them quickly, when necessary.
Its Always better to staple tem using a book stapler. -

Wife and I are married, both children have passports. I can’t come due to work. I’ve heard a notarized letter of consent may be required for the children to travel without me. Where can I get a copy of a notarized letter?
Yes, your wife needs tocarry a short letter written by you giving her permission to take the children out of the U.S. and into Mexico. it must be signed and notarized. This is Mexican law. She may or may not be asked for the letter. Nothing fancy…just a couple of paragraps. See sitebelow nd read section on MINORS under ENTRY REQUIREMENTS. It is really good to get 2 notarized originals and they soud be carried in different places in the luggage…just in case one is lost. -

Hey, I am just curious to know if you can have dual nationality and have a permanent residency to another country and still get to keep your dual nationality?
Example, Have Brit and Aus passports and have permanent residency to taiwan?
Yes it’s possible. Permanent residency is only a visa which permits you to stay indefinitely and work in a country, it does not confer citizenship. It’s attached to one of your passports (whichever one you used to apply for entry to your host country. In your example, the Taiwanese visa would be pasted into your UK or Aussie passport.
