I’ve looked up booking the cat onto the plane, which seems straightforward, it’s the immigration type stuff I’m worried about! Thanks.
I would suggest using an aeroplane.

I am doing a project for my summer school CALM class on an Ultimate Vacation. The total amount of money I am given is $2000.00 and I need to figure out how much that’ll be in USA cash. Plus, it’s also like a budget so basically I can not go over that specific amount.

If it is just an exercise for a class,
you can get a very good approximation
by using $1 C = $ 1 US – the exchange
rate has been right around 1-1 for quite
some time.

For up to the minute exact rates, check

http://www.xe.com

Right on the front page they have all the popular
currencies.

Tonight, 1 USD = 1.01379 CD and
1 CD = 0.98640 USD

Tomorrow, the rates will have changed
by a fraction of a cent in one direction or
the other, and the next day again.

Using 1-1 would only be off by less than 1.5%,
which might be within the acceptable margin
of error on a class exercise of $2000, since it
amounts to just $30.

The "Big Boys" who trade millions every day
care plenty about those 4th and 5th decimal places.
Tourists and visitors do not.

.

The south has such a unique accent, unlike the rest of the USA and Canada which sound the same apart from a few city exceptions (Boston, New York) but the south unmistakable… why is the accent so different.
All crap answers, your missing the point the southern accent is much more unique than any other in North America. England is different.

Jennifer B (above) has given a good answer.

But perhaps it can also be partially due to the past colonial days. Remember, the north had mainly English, Germanic settlers (north European), where as the south was predominantly French & Spanish settlers. With time they both mixed and even though the language is english their accents are still partially there.

Home ownership will not effect anything. It will not even entitle you to a visa to inspect the property.

You need to immigrate by the rules everyone else follows, buying a home will not have any effect on a green card or visa.

When going to a party or a get together how do you greet a guy and a girl? Im a guy so in my country we usually hand shake the guys and kiss the girl in the cheek.

Americans seem to be more casual about that stuff.

In a formal gathering, what you said would be appropriate (hand shake or cheek-kiss). In a more casual setting, just a "hey, how are ya" is sufficient.

I become suspicious about rhetoric that USA energy prices would be lower and we could wean ourselves from foreign oil sources should there be more exploration, drilling, and extraction within our boundaries.
If there is an energy security policy then please link it.
In my view, prices will never lower mostly because of the influence of energy businesses on politics, powerful speculators, and the global market. For instance, even though gas demand has dropped in the USA, prices are still soaring. Another thing is that there simply aren’t enough reserves to fuel even our reduced demands for very long. Regardless, I believe that the oil extracted within the USA would be sold on the global market and not be kept for the use of our nation.
Thanks for your responses.

There is more demand for oil and gas and not less. American oil can be sold on the global market but there isn’t enough to make it a viable solution. As long as we have a President and Vice President whose family business is oil, there will be no solution. But the nightmare will be over soon and solutions will be found.
